What is DTS About?
The Children at Risk DTS creates a space for those who have a passion for ministering to children to deepen their relationship with Jesus and to find opportunities to impact the lives of kids with the gospel of Christ. When you come, you will receive practical missions training in an immersive community so you can build God’s kingdom by modeling Christ’s compassion and effectively sharing your faith wherever God calls you.
Our community values create a culture of daily reliance on the Holy Spirit, development of personal character, and an imparting of God’s love for the Nations. You will learn why God made you so special and how to identify your unique individual gifts and callings in Him.
All our YWAMer's must "do first, then teach". Their teaching is loaded with revelation and carries real spiritual authority because they are not just reciting theory but sharing truth learned through personal application in the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Biblical Truth is meant to be applied. We cannot merely be "hearers of the word". DTS is designed to give students regular opportunities to put their learning into practice.
DTS culminates in 2 months of Cross Cultural outreach where students will do the real work of preaching the Gospel to the lost and serving the least. God loves the nations and calls us to take the Gospel to GO!
Lecture Phase consists of 13 weeks of learning who God is, has made us to be, and what He wants to do through us in the earth! Students will have the opportunity to hear from seasoned missionaries and international Christian leaders each week who are currently being used by God in the nations.
Outreach Phase is 9 weeks where we will go into the nations to make Jesus known. Students will have the opportunity to take what they have learned and apply it in the mission field. Our teams will get to be a part of several cross-cultural experiences and ministries as well as opportunities to step out in faith for advancing the Kingdom of Heaven. Our outreach includes evangelism, serving individuals and communities, meeting physical needs and addressing social injustices, youth ministry, sports & music activities and intercession.
